How often do I get an assignment for my language pair?

Wordsmakers is based in Thailand where 60% of our translation request comes from major languages in Group 1 on a daily/weekly basis. The rest comes from Group 2 and 3 languages on a fortnightly and monthly basis.

Pricing Range

Market rate in Thailand for document translation is between 150 to 450 Thai Baht on average, which translate to approximately 0.01 to 0.035 USD per word, assuming 400 word per page. Factors for pricing include language pairs, specialized knowledge required, experience of translators, timeline etc.

Payment amount(s), currency, method and timing

Payments are settled on a per job basis within 7 days after completion of work. We transact in only USD and Thai Baht. Payment methods include PayPal and bank transfer (Thailand).

Permissibility of subcontracting

Subcontracting of projects received from WorksMakers are strictly not permitted without written approval from WordsMakers.

Main Channel of Communication

We liaise with our service providers mainly via email, Facebook and LINE app.

Jobs for New Translators

New translators working with WordsMakers will be first assigned jobs with a simple scope and low technical knowledge requirements. This will help us to evaluate your work and understand your working style better. We recognize good translators by giving them priority for the bigger and better jobs.

What happens when I fail to meet my performance obligations?

1. In the event of a breach of Agreed-Upon Terms, WordsMakers is entitled, permitted and authorized, in advance and without prior notice, to suspend, impound and abolish funds transfers, conversions, withdrawal and transactions into, out of and within the Website until full investigation and resolution by WordsMakers.

  • Late delivery of work > 2 days: 10% reducion to total contract value per day from day 3 onwards, up to a maximum of 50%, provided that the client is willing to accept the work.
  • Late delivery of work resulting in job cancellation: no payment will be issued for work done.
  • Job cancellation due to poor translation quality: no payment will be issued for work done.

2. In the event that you are unable to carry out your duties during the course of the contracted period due to unforeseen circumstances, please contact WordsMakers support immediately to find a resolution. WordsMakers will evaluate your situation and make concessions on a case by case basis.
